Why Vagebond?

Do not just talk about homelessness. Listen to people who have experienced it.

Vagebond organises social-impact city walks led by guides who know the city through lived experience. You will not hear distant theory, but real stories from street level.

No ordinary city tour

Walk past places, stories and systems that usually remain hidden.

Guides with lived experience

Our guides connect personal stories with policy, shelters and life on the street.

Ideal for schools & teams

A walk that starts conversations and stays with you.

Social impact

Your booking is not just a walk; it also supports Vagebond’s work.

Lived experience

You do not walk past the stories. You step right into them.

Our guides reveal places that usually remain hidden. They connect personal stories with policy, shelters, street life and the way a city responds to vulnerability.

  • Guides with personal experience of, or direct involvement with, homelessness
  • Inside stories about shelters, street life and support services
  • Places and situations you would not normally see
  • The connection between policy and daily reality
The story behind Vagebond

From personal experience to a movement that changes perspectives.

Vagebond was founded in 2016 by Bernard and Anisah Kregting. Their experience of homelessness grew into an initiative where people are not discussed as a subject, but share their own stories and knowledge.

In the media

Stories that are heard beyond the walk.

Vagebond shares lived experience through interviews, podcasts, radio and regional media. This keeps homelessness visible as both a housing issue and a human-rights issue.

More than a walk

Every booking creates connection and opportunity.

The proceeds support Vagebond’s work and give guides the opportunity to use their lived experience, develop skills and reconnect with society.

  • Meaningful work for people with lived experience
  • Awareness among students, professionals and policymakers
  • More humanity in conversations about homelessness
